I ordered the elite, so once I have it we'll see. I used to have a contour and enjoyed the gps data, although it was clumsy using dashboard to set the gps data into the video then edit the video--double processing hurt quality. I currently use a VIO POV HD and it is the best video quality by far of any of the cameras I have used to date, but the dvd, tether, video head set up can be cumbersome. I am hopeful the garmin will give me the video quality with embedded gps data.
Personally I find the form factor and the integrated screen quite interesting - both are things that I find annoying with GoPros.
The lack of a rotating lens seems however a major limitation for mounting options, otherwise it would be really slick on the side of a fork, or helmet etc....
Does anybody know how good IPX7 is in real life applications? One of the potential uses that I have in mind would be windsurfing - the camera would certainly never be submerged for more than a short moment, but could go deeper than 1m if I crash hard. Any thoughts?
