Monoprice POV camera announced
I've been a fan of Monoprice for a couple years while setting up a Mac mini as my home theatre device, looks like they are branching out in the POV camera segment as announced at CES toady. Hope to see a review soon, even though I really love my Hero2.

Interesting: "A two-axis gyroscopic sensor ensures that the video maintains the proper orientation."
That could be very useful!

I've been thinking about this and I'm not so sure it would be a good thing all the time. For example, if I mount it on my bike so it's pretty much plumb, I want the video to show the tilt as I rail a corner but if the gyros right the video, I think it would take away the POV perspective and some of the excitement.
Hmmm.....

It's only a two axis, so i would doubt it would do that. I think it means that the camera will switch orientation based on how it's mounted. say in regards to Over or under the handle bars.

Wouldn't you need the lens to be gyroscopic too?
Any idea on the recording format?
Can you monitor the video at all?
Its lacking a high speed mode as well. Becoming more common today. Still, its appropriately priced I think.

They don't seem to have any info about the questions you've posted dnoyeb, but I think you're right, easily being half to one quarter the price of any of the GoPro cameras it may be more justifiable to those without a bunch of disposable income.
I'm thinking about getting one to supplement my GoPro Hero2 instead of getting another GoPro, maybe for rearward use.
