    I agree, it looks like the guy landed too far to the right and the whole landing washed out on him.
    As his front tire dug into the loose dirt, the front end rapidly decelerated causing the fork to massively dive as well. As we all know, an object in motion tends to stay in motion, so while the bike was rapidly slowing down and falling to the left, the rider was still moving at speed and hence the pete rose summersault.
    Or in other words, He ate sh*t!

    Ouch!
    There needs to be a sign on the top of the jump that says, "Danger Soft Shoulder".

    Edit: Upon further review, I see that his back tire landed first, and sank into the soft landing. This would have created the same effect as hitting the back brake during a wheelie. So his front end was dropping faster than normally and then when the front tire hit the soft shoulder it was all over. If his front tire would have landed on hard pack, He might have made it. Sadly, it seems that the landing was softer where his front tire hit.
