How a handmade bike is built

OK it's a CX type bike, not a mtb frame, but I wanted a better idea of the processes involved in constructing my first custom frame.

I left a camera with Sam Whittingham and Aran Cook at Naked Bikes, and here are the results. Outstanding bike, and a perfect fit.

Very cool. Buying a custom, handbuilt bike is on my dream list... but getting ever closer.

Thanks guys. I can recommend doing it. By the way, Sam is in the Guinness Book of Records with the current cycling land speed record (also holds the one hour record), and Aran was the 2007 English trials champion. A serious cycling pedigree despite their goofing around at the end!

Thanks. I've found it interesting to see different road, mtb, track, touring, folding bikes etc being made. They use steel, titanium and aluminum, and are now making more FS mtbs. Some really funky bikes for NAHBS exhibits too. Mine's steel with a carbon fork.
