Hello. I've had a Contour +2 for a year or so. It has a built in GPS that embeds the route data with the video file. I still don't know how to make use of this data. I know that with the Storyteller software you can view the GPS data, and you can upload a video to Youtube that displays the GPS data. But that software isn't useful for making an edit of the different footage taken during a ride. I'd be happy if I could use the Storyteller to make a new video file of a clip with GPS data displayed, but I don't think it can do that.
I use Windows Movie Maker software to put together a video edit from the various clips I take during a ride. I can overlay music, snip and trim clips, and play with the compression when making a final edit. But I don't know of a way to display the embedded GPS data. Is there software available that can extract and use the embedded GPS data from these Contour +2 video files? I'm not talking about software that can overlay independent GPS data on a video file, I'm talking about using the actual GPS data associated with the video clips. Thanks.
