    Contour Roam

    tested out the Contour Roam and was quite impressed with it so far. on/off switch is pretty slick, only issue is that there is no live screen, so you have to know your general area before filming. here are two short 8 min clips mounted to my handlebar for examples:

    Yep, and with about 10 minutes, you can upgrade it to ROAM2 configuration, too. See the thread below.

    thats brilliant. Will give this a try as well. maybe on a day i have some time on my hands, but good to know that its easily upgradable!

    Are you talking about the sliding on/off switch for recording?
    Most of the time I leave my ContourGPS on record. When I'm
    ready to film I just push the on button and it turns the cam
    on and records at the same time. When I'm done shooting I
    do the same. Push the off button and it saves the footage
    before shutting off.

    That is the old switching. There is no standby mode for the Roam or +2. The slider is power on and record in one motion. Longer battery life much MUCH easier to use on the fly.
