Should I leave it in the waterproof housing or is it pretty sturdy without it?

I don't have a housing for my ROAM and haven't had any issues with it. It's supposed to be waterproof to a meter, so rain, snow or the occasional mud puddle and creek crossing don't worry me.

i have both the original hd and the hd1080. i use them all the time with out the cases and theyve been fine for the last 3 years, i did buy the waterproof cases but ended up not using them as they are a bit to heavy to mount on your helmet.
