Best way to mount for Rocky Singletrack

I recently picked up a little camera called a SJ1000. The video looks great and I have an adapter that allows me to use any GoPro mount. I typically ride rocky east coast singletrack. I have tried a few methods of mounting, helmet, chest mount and Handlebar. Non seem to work great as the camera bounces around ridiculously. Smooth singletrack looks fine. I think there is probably a way to tweak the chest mount for it to work best. Any sugestions?

I ride the rocks in MD, and use the Gopro chesty mount. I modded the mount by adding a plastic plate as wide as the original, and extends downward maybe 3" from the mount. I found that the camera wanted to rotate downward from the hits, and the extra material from the plastic plate helped to stop it from rotating.
