Sunday 10.23 - CircumBurke Challenge
CircumBurke Mountain Bike Challenge & Trail Run
In Memory of Dave Blumenthal
An Epic Adventure into the Wilds of Northeast Vermont
You may know the Kingdom Trails, but likely you haven't ventured over the notch and into Victory, and all the way around Burke Mountain.
What: 18-20 miles on a combination of fire roads, double track and single track. The circuit harks back to the early days of mountain biking. There will be some rough surfaces, leaves, and possibly a stream crossing. In the spirit of Dave Blumenthal, a two-lap enduro category is also being offered for speedy distance riders (time cut-off after first lap).
Cost: $30 pre-reg; $38 day-of
Includes: BBQ, and an awesome glass made in Vermont by Catamount Glassware.
I took part in the Circumburke this past weekend and it was a lot of fun. Definitely worth doing again next year. Put on your big fat mud tires if you have them, though. I wrote up a review of the event for any who might be interested.
Great write-up. I was up there with a group on Sunday as well... although we were at KT showing someone around who hadn't been there before. I'll have to mark this on the calendar for next year.
Thanks for posting!
CircumBurke Update & Photos
Great write-up indeed! And so quick.
Well, just two short weeks after Mark rode and posted his blog article, we have our photos and update complete.
For all those who made it - congrats and thanks for coming out!
For those who didn't - we hope to see you next year!
If you are interested in the trail system - pls use the CircumBurke-Challenge Facebook page to do so.
(And if you have suggestions and ideas, please send me a note. It was only the second year and we want to make it better than ever next year.)
