Potential New Trails in Hardwick, VT

This was posted on the MTBVT.com Facebook Page last night.

"Hey folks - New Trail system being built in the Hardwick Town Forest, behind Hazen Union. We've got over 200 acres to design and build some sweet trail. The goal is to start with beginner/intermediate trails to build a riding community and interest. The land is a gold mine of flow, so if we play cards right, we'll have a sweet in-between from Stowe to Kingdom Trails.

Hit us up for more info, I'll post work days here. First one is this Sunday, 5/5/13! Meet @ 8:00am at the Trail head behind Hazen Union Highschool."

The town forest already has some basic double track trails that are maintained by the high schools forestry program. There is a lot of land here with some good potential. If you live in the area it would be great to get as many people on board with this as possible.

Lot's of opportunity to build trail in VT right now. Hardwick has some cool stuff going on lately. (for those not from around here, Hardwick has been he town all the other north vermont rednecks make fun of for being such rednecks. Kinda like Northfield or Barre in CVT)

I just registered (long overdue) for the sole purpose of getting involved in this! I heard through the grapevine that this was happening, and was pleasantly surprised to find out that work had already started! Let me know when the next work day is, and I'll be there! (I live in Hardwick).

It's in the works. A few of us have started building a trail. The Hardwick Trails organization is very interested in it. We're loosely organized at this point.

This is great. More trails in the Kingdom would be grand.
