From Mitch:

As of Saturday October 17, the Greater Portland area has an official chapter of NEMBA, the New England Mountain Bike Association! http://www.nemba.org/aboutnemba/GreaterPortland.html

This is an exciting opportunity for all current and future mountain bike riders in the area. NEMBA is an non-profit organization of riders and trail advocates, and now we have our own chapter!

If you're already a member of the organization, thank you…. If not, please join up as soon as possible. Membership dollars support the organization, trail days, tools, supplies, etc.

Here is a link to the NEMBA membership page (http://www.nemba.org/shopzone/page4.html), please specify the Greater Portland chapter while filling out the membership application. Corporate support is also eagerly welcomed and your donations are tax deductable. Please see the website or contact portlandnemba at gmail for more details

Please direct all correspondences about the chapter…. to portlandnemba at gmail. Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions.
PLEASE forward this email to everyone you know in the area who rides…. List-serves, friends, cycling gangs, etc. For the chapter to be successful we need a healthy membership of area riders who are willing to put a little sweat equity into the area trails we enjoy so much!

Thank you for your time and for supporting the Greater Portland chapter of NEMBA!

Happy trails!

Yea! Greater Portland has such a MASSIVE trail network from Cape Elizabeth to Bradbury Mountain and ALL of it is vulnerable to loss. In addition, this is some of the best riding anywhere and you wouldn't believe some of the trails in open view of the City.

Anyone who is in the area PLEASE take some time to look in to helping out.
