Pine Hill Park - Upcoming Events

Just wanted to share some of the cool goings on at PHP (Rutland, VT) this summer.

Droopy Pedal MTB Race Series: Third Monday of June, July and August (6/20, 7/18 & 8/15). Registration begins at 5:15 and races start at 6:00. You can choose either a 3+- mile loop or an 8+- mile loop. The 8 mile course is virtually the same as the course for the Lunar Quarry 12. $10 per race or $25 for the series.

2nd Annual PHP XC Challenge MTB Race: Sunday July 10, with registration at 9:00 AM and race start at 10:00 AM. Beginners 6 miles, Intermediate 12 miles, and expert/advanced 18 miles. $25 pre-reg or $30 on race day.

You may pre-register for the above races at www.rutlandrec.com

Lunar Quarry 12: This is going to be nuts.....A 12-hour night time race, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on October 1 & 2. Too many cool things to list here, so please check out the website at www.lunarquarry12.com

Please feel free to post up with questions or email me at jaythomas24 AT comcast DOT net.

    Thanks!

Pistol - Thursday is THE night to ride. There are several groups that head out between 5:00 and 6:00 and it's rarely a problem to find a group to hook up with.

Bushwacker - We hope to have a SS class but that will be based on entries. Will need 5 solo SS'ers to make a category. I will say that this is a great SS course. There are some short punchy climbs but nothing sustained and it's 95% twisty/flowy singletrack so not much worry about spinning out.

    Cheers!

The weather looks perfect for this Sunday's XC Challenge (80 & sunny) . A bunch of us rode the course last night and the trails couldn't be in better shape. Michael S. & crew have completed the "centrifuge" bridge and finalized the re-route on Overlook, a beautiful switch back along Rocky Pond.....all parts of the 6-mile race loop

Registration begins at 9:00 AM with a 10:00 AM race start. Feel free to come out early Sunday morning for a pre-ride.

    Hope you can join us!
