Just up on bike-reg. Fatbikes only, capped at 50 racers.
Moose Brook Fat Bike Race!! We have been loving fatbikes up here in the north, and decided that it was time for a proper winter cross country race. Where better for a winter race in the Northeast than in the heart of the White Mountains. Coos Cycling Club works hard to build the trails at Moose Brook and beyond, which I think you'll find evident. We also throw a pretty good shin-dig. The money that you cough up (thank you) will be rolled right back into the trail system, and will help this race happen again year after year.
The race course will be completely contained within the park, utilizing the same winding singletrack that we ride all summer. There will be a bit of climbing on the snowmachine trail as well to help spread the field, and get some passing done. It is a 4 mile course, with a 2 lap (8 mile) and 4 lap (16 mile) option for racers. We will be updating our facebook page with conditions, and you will receive another email prior to raceday with a conditions update and some final details on the course.
The Start/Finish line will be at a great old pavilion with a fireplace, and we'll have a couple of other barrels burning as well for spectators. We will have a grill going with some dogs and there will be a spread of other munchables, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that we are serving a meal. There will be hot water, cocoa, coffee and the sort.
Oh, and obviously the award ceremony! Custom made trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd for both Mens and Womens class.
