    Killington Trail Recommendations

Some friends and I are riding Killington this weekend.

Does anyone have any trail recommendations?

If it still exists, the Cable Trail (#18) was one of my favorites. Trails in the #30s were funas well. But I'm not sure what parts of the mountain were damaged during Irene and what trails still exist.

    Here is the current map.

Not sure your skill set, but hit the blues and blacks first few runs, then hit the double blacks if your comfortable. Most everything is grounded and natural. Few man made options.

1,2,18,2,1,4,6,6,9,24,22 is a nice early day run. Modify as you figure out the trails.
7,21,23,14 and 7,13,13,14 are a next step up.

Try to get out to 11 sometime during the day. Little climbing to get there.
34,33, 30/32 are some of the tougher trails.

Don't go below the dotted line on the map or you will have to climb back up. Not advised on the big bikes.

Look before you leap on the double black diamonds.

    FYI

KIllington is hosting the POC Eastern States DH race this weekend. Crowds could be larger than normal.

    Thanks everyone for the info.

I found this great video on the Killington Trails from the Ride Guide TV Show:
    Ride Guide Bike Video Player

They mention the trails "Yo Vinny" and "Cable Trail". Are they "can't miss" trails..... as in we should hit them no matter what? (thanks in the trees for the vote on the cable trail)

Anybody have any of their own "can't miss" trails at Killington?

    EDIT:
Whaddya know, I found a video of the Cable Trail, too - looks pretty good!

That vid shows the right hand option of the Cable Trail. There is/ was a left hand option with large sweeping turns that dropped you across a couple of ski trails to then intersect with Trail #1.

Thanks all for the Killington recommendations. Rode it this past Saturday and it was awesome!

I would like to 2nd severum's recommendation for this trail sequence (1,2,18,2,1,4,6,6,9,24,22) - one of the most fun sections we rode all day.

The Cable Train (#18 was probably my favorite). Here I am crashing on it

    Thanks again everyone!
