trails are tough, some frozen dirt, ice, crusty snow, pretty inconsistent. the pond is where it's at. lots of shore line to ride like in the pictures. me and tam will probably be riding out there this weekend; so if you would like to ride those STUDS you picked up at the shop let me know. tires, i meant tires. oh, do you have skates?

we will be riding fri, sat, sun, playing some hockey too. generally f 'n around all weekend. the lake rid'n is the best it has been in years. i'd like to take advantage, but if the weather is anything like today(brutal cold and wind) i may be inside smelling farts.

Hampstead trails are in good shape for riding if you need to scratch the itch. we will be riding again this weekend mixing in trails and ice. so again studded tires mandatory (for our group anyway) If u want to join let me or lone ranger know. pedal at 11am

We have fantastic ice riding conditions in the North Conway area too. Four rides in 2 days and more planned for superbowl Sunday. I'm going to need a couple days to recover.

Chris, where did you find those Dillingers? Nobody seems to have them.

    ice

I jumped on 'em early through Treefort Bikes. I'd been waiting fur such a tire for a couple years and knew they'd go fast. They don't ride on rails or anything, though they do provide a noticeably improved grip on ice. They're also light and the tread pattern makes for a great all around winter tire.

^^ I pre-ordered my Dillingers too. I agree with your assessment of them. They have helped a lot on the commute (4mi trail, 1 mi dirt, 1 mi paved), a lot less holding my breath and praying, or having to walk than last year without them. And no crashes. A short clip of the foster dog ice skating on the snowmo trail yesterday. (Her adoption info is here if anyone is interested Central Vermont Humane Society :: Ginger- Courtesy Post)

Hay Pitch, looks like you had some fun this weekend. I wish I could have made it down but I ran out of time, I look at and sold to jobs, sold one of my extra bikes and got a good ride on saturday. The trail I rode was great super pack down and icy. Some long flowy down hill and some slippery of camber ice turns that I was riding too fast, didn't go down but had some close ones.

Kevin and Doug, did the ride already happen? i wasnt sure if you meant just this past weekend, or the weekend coming up. I still have my studs on, whether i needed them or not. Too much of a pain to keep switching them. Perhaps i MAY this weekend head up to hampstead if you guys are going to be there. i may be able to grab a couple people with me.
