I guess the weather gods hate me, they don't want me to go to KT

Anyone knows of appropriate sacrifices or bribes to get the weather gods to be on my side?

Was initially planning on heading up to KT on Sunday, 21st, but there's a 50% chance of rain. Ok, that didn't work, so cool, I'll resched the trip for the 25th. As of yesterday, the 25th was Partly Cloudy. Today they're forecasting 40% chance of rain! What have I done to deserve this

These are the days when my kids don't have activities, my wife is off from work, and I am able to get off from work as well!!!

Anyways, sorry for the rant. Just frustrated as school is about to be in session again and KT was one of our destinations this year. Oh well. Hoping weather changes for the good.

Does KT close the trails down on 40-50% chance of rain?

KT almost never closes trails. 50% chance of rain? Go. It's not like it turns to a mudpit the minute it gets a sprinkle.

Thanks. We're heading up on the 25th rain or shine. Still got hopes it's the latter.

I'm no meteoroligist but it seems showers are very frequent in that area. Usually a passer by and it's over. The only time it's a no go is when there's a major storm system in the area (90%-100% precipitation). Have fun on your trip

    Thanks JSumner13. A 50% chance only which means it's a go

We hope to be at East Burke between 8-8:30am. Bikes for my wife and daughter already reserved so there's not turning back LOL

jrsbike: The hourly weather looks decent as of right now so it might turn out to be a nice day to ride.

The 21st didn't work for us because the wife didn't get home until 1am from a double-shift.

Anyways, we still had to go up to KT yesterday. Our dog was already boarded. Already had bikes reserved with EBS and we'll get charged if we don't pick 'em up. When we went through the White Mountain region, we kinda lost our hope because it was cloud-covered and started drizzling. But once we got past Franconia, it became partly cloudy with the sun peaking out every so often.

We were happy to see the sun struggling to come out at KT. Got the EX8s we rented from ESB and off we went. Since it's the first time the girls went mountain biking, we went with the easy trails. There were still some climbs that they hated but they sure had fun. They loved the downhill parts. Went riding until they were spent, which was around 4pm or so. Wife drove the car back down to ESB while son and I rode down Kitchel which was nothing short of AWESOME!

We didn't do much single-tracks and missed riding Sidewinder, Web's and all of the trails on the other side of Darling Hill Rd. but am so glad we went and introduced mountain biking to the girls. My ballet-dancer, artsy, chorus 14-yr old daughter was quite a revelation. She stayed there and really had fun. The girls were quite the sport with bruises and pedal cuts here and there, and of course sore butts but they kept riding.

My son wanted to ride more harder single-tracks but we just can't this time around. He himself was quite the sport patiently helping the girls out and not complaining of the slow pace. Only had time for Cupcake, Pastore Point Loop, Pastore Loop, sumthin-Troll and of course Kitchel. It started pouring around 4:30pm so it was perfect timing when we bailed.

In the end, it was loads of fun. We are definitely coming back and stay for at least 2 days
