    Bear Brook ridable?

How much snow is there still in Bear Brook. Going to be heading south to Concord later this week and was hoping to get a ride in.

Negative, still quite a bit a snow in the woods, today's rain and fog should knock it down, but it's going to have snow, and lot's of wet soft stuff for at least another couple weeks.

This image should update daily with snow depth:

Franklin Falls is always the first place ready to ride in Central NH.

I did a snowshoe race last Saturday on the mtn bike trails, if that is any indication. A friend went x/c skiing there yesterday, and said that the trails were covered in stale crust and ice.

    Bear Brook.....

Bear Brook is still definitely a no. Going towards Bear Brook Trail to Cascade covered with ice and stale snow. Not so bad going down Salt Lick and Hemlock direction but still some ice covered areas heading out. Probably another seven to ten days before its cleared to be a sustainable ride. FYI, the double tracks are soft sinking mud so those are a no-go as well

Didn't test the water, but if you take a dip, prepare for maximum shrinkage.

The new Big Bear, taken Monday morning. It's packed and riding great. Too bad we're getting rain the next few days.

This trail map is a few years old but has everything except Big Bear Trail.
    http://www.northeastcycling.com/Bear_Brook_Map.pdf

Big Bear is betwen Little Bear and Podunk Rd. A nice quick loop is to ride Little Bear up, and Big Bear down. Do it once at the beginning of your ride and you'll surely want to ride it one more time before you head home.

Left work early to get a couple hours of riding in. Trails are fast with very little mud. One warning, BLACK FLYS, bring bug spray or don't stop.

I live very close to BB (just ride out of my shed to Podunk road) and ride out there very frequently, so ill try and keep every one updated. I was out yesterday did a nice big loop and everything was already pretty much dry already big bear was a little soft around some berms but overall awesome to ride. Plan on going out tonight around 6 to do the little bear big bear loop hope to see some of you out there.

Thanks for the video. It is inspiring. I'm a about 10 lbs away from my goal to get started riding and about a few bucks away from the parts I need. Videos like this keep me thinking positive and working towards my goal.

If I recall correctly, horses are not allowed on the single track. I've seen hoof prints on Hemlock before so if you see any horses on anything but double track let them know. They chew up the climbs that bikers and hikers spent hours shaping.

Thats true, according to the NH state park website The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation : Equestrian horses are only allowed on "road width trails only"

Keep at it!!! Nothing better than the wind flowing threw your brain bucket while shredding the trails!!

And as far as the horses go I did not see them on the trail just the aftermath unfortunately but I will kindly let the horse riders know single track is off limits now that I know that 100% . I wasn't to sure before if they shared the tails and just big bear was off limits. But the only time I've seen them was on Podunk road
