2013 NH Early Spring, what is a go to ride?

Concord area still has a ways to go before the snow is gone in the woods, what is it like in other parts?

    Is Yudicky still snow covered?
    Fort Rock?

Lakes Region still has a bit to go, with some places looking better than others. North end of Winni seems to have less snow than the south end. This warm stretch makes things look better by the day!

Reports are that, as of today, Yudicky is a no go.

Fort Rock should be closed for mud season shortly if it's not already.

I hear that Seabrook is good to go. Otherwise head south or grab the road bike.

I was able to piece together a loop tonight in Concord of 1/3 pavement, 1/3 singletrack, and 1/3 dirt roads. It was still a little icy in some places, but sooooo much better than riding in the brutal winds on the road bike.

My friend told me that Stratham Hill and Willowdale are rideable with some really mucky spots. I haven't ridden them yet so I can't vouch for conditions.

Yes, my wife ran in there yesterday during her lunch break and said it was good to go. It gets you off the road and out of the wind, two big plusses right now.

I was able to ride in Sewall Woods in Wolfeboro yesterday. Still frost in the ground for almost all of the trail, 20% snow and ice cover, and some soft mud in the few places the frost had come out, but it was great to get back out and ride in the woods!

LDTF, russel mill, land locked forest, willowdale, HP, the mush, marshabesic, derry etc.. so far all these places are ridable. Give Bear Brook atleast a couple more weeks, that place holds the snow...

There's snow and ice on Overlook and landing. It's recommended that you ride from the Faucher entrance for the time being. Other than that, it's mostly good, and rideable. There will be some closures (white and raving) due to logging on weekdays for a number of weeks.

Cornish Town Forest is good to go. A little ice and snow, but virtually no mud. Rode without studs yesterday, and was just fine.

Moody Park is still a giant mud pit.

Buddy of mine said he saw a group of guys getting geared up in the parking lot at Franklin Falls today. That's a good sign for us folks that live north of there...couple more weeks for Campton/Thornton etc. I would guess.

Went to Franklin Falls yesterday----still lots of snow and ice patches--and soft/muddy spots. Mostly unrideable without doing some damage. Lots of rain in forecast for this week will not improve things for upcoming weekend--better to wait another week!

Cool, thanks for the update. I might swing through there next Friday on my way home from work to see how it looks.

Bear Brook is clear once you get up to Hemlock. Salt Lick connector off of the sandpit is a little mushy in spots. Take Big Bear back down to complete the ride.

More on Franklin Falls---it has rained 1.28" there in the last 4 days up to 9:00 this morning with another 1" today through tonight. Some of this may be sleet and freezing rain. So, on top of the snow, ice, and mud that was there Monday---Sniper was about 40-50% snow and ice, it might be good to put off a ride there until Sunday at least. Give it time to drain. Anyone been there since Monday?
