Thanks. But be forewarned, There will be a lot more climbing @ Auburn than ALL of Salmon.

I'll post a pic tonight that will give you an indication of what I mean.

Very nice. Looks like the only rider without decent stand-over was the guy riding the Kona.

Nice representation of the Ventana lineup there, all that is missing is an El Padrino I'll have to get up that way sometime, what with our complete lack of singletrack in Marin . . .

    Legal singletrack, anyway.

Let us know when you're coming, and we can arrange something. No gurantee we'll get THAT many riders, but we'll get a few!

Legal Marin Singletrack. That's gone the way of the dodo. I live in Sac County. Except for one 3 mile trail that Sits on State property (within the county). We have the same problem.

Notice that I don't EVER show pics of me riding in my own county? I have to drive to Placer or El Dorado for ANY legal trails.

I took this pic at the end of Confluence trail. Culvert to Confluence is a must, when doing Auburn. Only problem? You either climb up ABOVE that bridge in the background before you ride the trails or after. But you have to go up to play.

Hey, well no pictures, but two os us Ventana brethren rode Oat Hill Mine Road this past Monday. I've been hearing about this trial for years, and never had the chance to check it out. Always fun to ride something new.
have you ever done that one Aaron? Or any others? ]
I was shocked! That trail kicks some serious butt. I mean it challenges Poisen Spider, seriously! Big granite rock riding. The first 4miles average 16% climb. And the rock...oh the rock....superior traction, but lung and leg busters for sure.
Some tremendous views of The Palisades too. You'd be hard pressed to know you are on the edge of the napa valley.
It's a hike to get to, but well worth it....if you're into those sort of self punishing rides.

You should have seen him on the Trek Fuel .. the Kona is better for him. I can't get him on a Ventana yet, but I keep trying

It was way cool to ride with that many Ventanaphiles.. gotta do that again soon.

Looks like a fun ride. What area is that in?
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction.

I need to get up to the Sac area and ride. I miss the mild summer weather that we had when I was at Davis

Yep, that's Sherwood, typical Kali Slacker!

I practically have to DRAG him kicking and screaming away from the CNC machine most rides!

Oat hill, I've heard it mentioned quite a few times on the Norcal Board and seen some sick pics back in the "Pete" days. But have never ridden it. High praise coming from you makes me want to take a future Monday off!

The Foresthill Bridge is the 3rd highest bridge in the US and is the tallest in California at 730 feet off the water. Feel the burn........ As side note regarding the bridge and the trails in the area. Last summer I read a book that details the area called "Nature Noir" by Jordan Fisher Smith......very interesting. He covers topics from the Dam, to the first mtn lion attact. It's basically his first hand account being a Park Ranger in the Sierra's

Hey, we're (as many as I can round up) going to be coming up from S.Cal sometime in July, no dates set yet, and we are going to get Sherwood and the other N. Cal gangsters out on the trials. Whatever it takes, candy, coffee, beer, Tig welding equipment, whatever... we'll get him out on the trail.
