    Zeus suspension question

Anybody else notice a tiny amount of vertical play at the shock/linkage bolt after swapping the travel change chip on your Zeus?

I have taken my shock off a handful of times for cleaning purposes. One time I thought I had tightened the bolts sufficiently but they were too loose. This did create the play I think you are talking about. I also have already had to replace the Fox eyelet on the shock which also created some play.

Cool thanks! How many rides before u replaced the eyelet bushing? Also, did u end up using washers, or were u able to get the bolt tight enough without?

It's only been on four short rides (1.5 hrs each) so shouldn't be bushing...

I replaced the bushing right at a year. I do believe it was a result of not having the bolt tight enough which stripped the bushing. The bolt will appear tight but double check with a Park tool wrench and Allen.

I tried to torque it down about as strongly as I can, but there is still a tiny (but reduced) amount of play. What torque are you going to?

Also, how do you get it tightened well while in the 160mm mode? I have found it difficult due to the recessed position relative to the rocker...

Make sure you use a socket wrench and the hex wrench together. It will appear that it tightens itself with the use of the hex alone but I found you have to hold the nut bolt while tightening. If that does not work you probably need a new Fox bushing.

Add extra washers on each side, then you can get rid of the recess and tighten it as well as on the 140mm travel position.
