    Tire Clearance on El Commandante

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a new 29r SS frame.
One of my biggest issues is rear tire clearance. My current frame will not even clear the 9r Nevegals that came on it. I need to clear some big meaty tires.
Whats tire clearance like on the Commandante?
Its all Shits and Giggles until somebody Giggles and Shits

My FR3 wouldn't fit. I'm running a CG 2.25 which I happen to like, so no loss. Although it is an aluminum frame it does not have a stiff ride. This has been mentioned by others. You may want to ask Ventana if there is a non-belt drive option which would add plenty of clearance for the biggest tires. I'm getting plenty of use out of mine. The tensioning system is the real deal and I'm a big guy.

I run Ikon 2.20 on Flow rims on my El C and I wouldn't want to go any larger. As DrDon pointed out, getting it built without the belt drive cutaway would help to improve the tire clearance. The best thing to do is call or email Ventana and ask them what options there are to improve the tire clearance.

On a side note, the El Comandante is a great frame and is not your typical harsh riding aluminum HT.
