I was running a 100mm stem, but after seeing what a lot of others have been saying about the merits of a short stem, I decided to try out the 50mm and I'm liking it a lot. I thought the cockpit would feel really cramped, but it actually feels better on the climbs. I ditched the XC wheels for the 521s. The bike feels much more confident now and downhills are much more fun. There is a weight penalty, but after switching to the shorter stem, it seems the new body position actually is enhanced and I'm still able to put down power to the pedals. Well, I think after 6 months of tinkering...it's fianlly complete. Now...................gotta ride more!

2014 150mm Pike Solo Air RCT3, Formula RO brakes w/203mm/185mm discs, Stan's Arch on Hope Pro 2 Evo (wheels will be swapped for Flow EX), Syntace Vector 780mm bars, Syntace Megaforce 2 stem, KS Lev seatpost, XT derailleur/shifter, King headset, etc, etc.
29.3 pounds, or thereabout.

Still Stoked on My El Ciclon!
Two months later, added the following:
--Gravity Dropper (Turbo Model), dropped some grams, replaced the GD "Classic" model
--Got the Fox 32 Talas CTD PUSHED (Factory rebuild, Big Hit re-valving, and TALAS to Float Conversion set at 150mm).
--AEST Platform Pedals (280 grams)
When I bought the used 2013 Fox 32 TALAS, it had zero movement in the initial stroke, no small bump compliance. After the PUSH re-build, HUGE difference, it was pricey, but worth it in my book.
Totally stoked with this bike (now at 29 lbs), and with the dialed in suspension the bike just went to another level! Now if you all will excuse me, Im going riding!
