My old Witch is getting a facelift !

Starting with a new headset , 180 mm length crankset , shock & fork rebuilds , and then some ! Oh geeze , it looks like my cables need replacing too !

I just installed the CC 110 headset and threw the old CK in the recycle bin ! TIG.

Are you sending the frame in too, or just its components?

Either way, looking forward to seeing the final results

I think a new cable set should be high on your list! ;-)

No doubt.......plus full length housing ! There were only a few strands left holding the cable together going to my RD ! TIG.

You will be sorry you installed that CC 110 headset. I had one on two of my bikes and after 6 months on one and two years on the other the lower cup developed a gritty feel to it. Cane Creek replaced the six month old headset with a new 2011 model which I sold for a new CK. The other one I pulled the seal and placed it in my ultrasonic cleaner for 40 minutes. The gritting feel did not go away. I think it's their seals. The lower bearing on the 2011 CC 110 headset is removable for ease of service.

    Just my two cents......

Oh I dunno......I have one on my Sultan for three seasons and one on my Knolly for four seasons and they are doing just fine ! I do know that I'm very fussy when installing them and for preloading the bearings....I use a small In lb torque wrench and usually find the sweet spot at about 8 to 10 inch pounds ! Then I check them again after breakin and they usually stay fine (um usually ) ! Nothing wrong with the CK it just started creaking using two different forks and with the same forks didn't creak in my other bike with a CC headset! TIG.
