    How many Ventana's do/have you owned ?

I'm on my first Ventana, I'd love another one - too go with my El Ciclon, maybe a hardtail or even a 29er, or perhaps a terremoto

But funds don't allow at the moment - there seems to be some lucky people on here that own more than one or have owned several,

So come on make me jealous

    Had a Ciclon that went through more "stages" than I can count. (5"/5" Air/Air, 5"/5" Air/Coil, 5"/6" Coil/Coil, 6"/6" Coil/Coil)

    Now I'm on a Terremoto.

If you are thinking Double Barrel...do it. It is the best shock there is...period.

I've got an El Salt, which I've run in 5" mode but now have set at 4" and an X5. I have considered swapping the X5 for a Ciclon (I prefer the traditional frame to the X brace), but I still really like the way that the X5 rides, so it would be purely the desire for change. I think you have had a good few bikes that would be considered alternatives to Ventanas, i've looked at a few but none of them have the same balance of performance, looks, and exclusivity and of course the custom options. I try and control the desire for the new by upgrading parts, I think I could probably assemble about 10 bikes with the various wheels, forks etc I have!

Justa not sure grinch green has a a certain appeal.

Rsutton1223 - can you change the shock from 2.25" To 2" easily?

I would like to run it on 6" rockers at 2" ie 5.32" with pikes on for 90% of the time then add my 66sl's on the front and up the stroke to 2.25" and give the rear 6".

The angles and BB should work out similar to an El terremoto when set up like that.

i've been keeping an eye on the other thread about the X6 vs El terremoto. (splitting hairs) as i also have the same problem. I however have no option but to go for a X brace. given the fact that i am a short arse!

If it takes you more than two minutes...you should never touch a shock again. We got lucky with the 7.875 i2i 2" and 2.25 stroke CCDB's...all you have to do is change out the base plate from a coned version to a flat to change the stroke between the two. Spin up the spring coller...take out the plate...remove the spring and then install the flat plate and 2.25 stroke spring...that's it. All done by hand.

    4.5 total.

Psycle Werks Wild Hare (hence the .5), 5" El Salt, El Bucanero SS, El Chiquillo & my wife's El Fuego. I still have all but the PW.

    Hmmmmmm, what's next?

I've owned three Ventana's so far............all FS frames ( El Saltamontes , La Bruja , and an El Capitan ) ! Sold the Salt but have the other two ! I' d really like to get a Ventana 29er hardtail most likely a singlepeed in the future........even though I'm not a big hardtail fan ( I've owned several in the past ) the simplicity of it appeals to me and I already know about Ventana's excellent quality ! TIG.

    Zero for now

I have an El Rey on order with Larry at Mnthigh and just awaiting build and delivery. I think it will land just about the same time I go onto 12hr/day 6day/week work schedule . Can't wait to see it, I've been to Rancho Cordova and talked to Sherwood and Theresa and got to see lots of frames hanging about so I know my bike will be fantastic.

I owned an El Salt previously and now own a Hammerhead 125 (made by Ventana, so it counts). I am not jonesing for more, so unless Ventana starts to make a DJ/Urban frame, I'm done.

They do make a DJ/Urban frame.....Sherwood will make anything type of frame you want as long as you have the $$$$$$$$$$$$ . But as Aaron once said he would hate to subject a Ventana to the dirt jumping lifestyle. I can understand that since I often fling my cruiser on failed jump attempts.

2 Vintage Ventanas an El Toro (2000) and El Fuego (1999) Both still sweet rides. A bit more up to date an 04 X-5 which has been set in 5", 5.5" and 6" modes. Currently running a 66 up front and DHX rear. Have been considering getting a FS 29er or T-moto from Ventana.

I have been riding mtb for eight months and I have owned four.
First an El Ciclon, then an El Toro, then a custom geared El Toro, and finally a Pantera. Yeah I know, a weird mix.
But I'm still learning what I like.
Next will be an X-frame El Rey like Sherwood's green one.

I saw the green El Rey that was used in the mtbr 29'er shootout last year. That was Sherwoods bike I believe? Anyways it looked fantastic in the sun but didn't have a x-brace frame. Thanks for the factory tour Sherwood.
