Did Ventana drop a few 29ers from their line up?

A buddy of mine was asking me about my Ventana, how I liked it etc. He then asked me why some of their 29ers where missing from the line up on the Ventana Website. So we visited the site and it looks like El Patron 29 and the El Capitan 29 have been dropped.

My buddy was thinking about getting the El Capitan 29.

Anyone know why these frames are not on the Ventana site anymore?

Yes the El Patron was dropped from the line. There are still some 07 El Patrons left. The El Rey will now come in 23" and 25" to fill the void left by the El Cap. I'm pretty sure a El Capitan for your buddy would not be a problem. You need to have your buddy call Teresa and make sure. If your buddy is looking for a 23" or 25" frame he should check out the El Rey. The new ones are pretty cool.

Down tube gusset and tubing are the only changes. Geo is the same.

Any reason in particular because it was a sexy bike. I think it required its own dedicated rockers, however.

I really don't know Enel. Maybe because 3" travel bikes are just not big sellers. If you notice the El Fuego is missing also. 4 inches seems to be were it's at now. With the new gusset all the 08 hardtails can take a 100mm fork now.
