    Can't wait till ThursGhey!

Gotta be honest though....in talking to El Beastro and Larry, they seem more excited about what is in the box than I am! El Beastro even warned me to not have my wife around when I open the box and believe me, its not because of the bike.......I am very afraid

Okay, what bike did you get this time, Fo? You better tell me. Is it a TM or an Endorphin?

Edit- I just realized which forum you posted this in. So it's not an Endorphin.

Hmm...38 lbs. I wonder how much a bike box weighs.....

Okay, scratch the TM. Is it a Ciclon or an El Rey?

I think 38 lbs is the standard for UPS oversize packages. At least that is what they rip you for.

Mine will be here tomorrow. Could have picked it up Monday but work intervened. I'll post a thread up.

It is an El Rey. I figured since all the kewl kids are riding those ghey 650B bikes that if I added another 29er to the stable, my average wheelsize would in fact be that of the 650B!

thanks....though I would honestly not call it a blinged out ride in that many/most of the parts are X9/XT level which is what I want......generic juicy brakes, etc...Couple parts I guess are bling I guess like the wheels but frankly, on a 29er in particular, I9s are FAR more than nice to look at....the extra stiffness (IMHO) is very welcomed and has a tangible benefit.

Dude, Fo is way more serious than that. He almost always takes a bike to the park where his kids play. Sometimes he even races the other kids on their tiny bikes. Sometimes, he wins. See, he ain't no pushover.

29 lbs for a complete El Rey, 5 lbs for a bike box, 1 lb for packing material, and 3 scoops of elephant dung at approx. 1 lb per scoop.

Don't insult the build with the "Shitmano" reference of 'XT'. There isn't a single Shitmano part on that Rey you punk!

I'd think the '08 F29 w/DT Swiss QR 9mm front axle, custom ordered I9 Enduros w/Flow rims, PUSH Factory Tunes RP2-3, and the Moots Ti seatpost give it some 'bling'.

You actually have it wrong. UGI implicitly stands for "upgrade". How can a new 29er FS be an "upgrade" when i dont have one to "upgrade"? As such, this is definitely NOT UGI, but rather, a necessity and really does not count towards my allowance from the UGI funds.

    Uncool!

I think it's totally uncool of El Beastie to sell that fine bike to someone that will never ride it.

Do you know how many dirt starved children there are in China that are more deserving of that steed.

    I'm just sayin'.

No Worries Bortis....with all the holiday packages rolling through the UPS hubs, UPS will likely back over the bike box in a brown delivery van anyway.

I insured it for $3.....to cover my packing supplies.

Yo Fo' don't mind them bagging on you all the time, they're just jealous ROFLMAO
On a serious note I can tell you that's a sweet El Rey and once you swing a leg over a real bike with big boy wheels you'll take it farther than the kids park. Oh and yo Fo', don't forget the pics of whatever else is in that package

I wondered why 'Beast hooked you up with that super cool 'Rey

Now we will not hear from Fo for a day or two. He's busy laminating the pages at Kinko's. He has no shame!

LOL, Beastro couldn't bring himself to do it, so he talked a female friend into it.

He sent one of his dogs in to the store with a note and money. I was thinking about it and decided that the Beast would not do it and Larry woudn't either but I also decided I should not ask these questions and focus on Fo's gratitude to them instead.

Pages in the trash? A likely story!

Congrats on the new sled. Of course this weekend is supposed to have the biggest storm (probably .5" of rain) to hit SoCal all year so you won't be able to take it out.

I think he is doing up an oil painting as we speak. Acrylic would have been quicker, Fo.

I just posted mine and I had to actually build the bike.

    (of course, I don't have 4 kids, so . . . .)

And a fine looking Padrino it is.

It's gonna be a while because Fo is trading me wheels and forks. I'm giving him my King wheels and Reba and he's sending me the wheels and fork off his new Rey.

Makes sense now. We'll just have to cut Fo some slack.
