Ventana always gives weights with the Shock.

And at last check, the Fox Float CTD is .48 lbs (~218g). So it's easy to calculate the frame without the shock weight.

Beautiful frame. Sherwood just keeps improving the designs. Still digging my Ciclon, but I love watching the constant improvements on the engineering and designs.

Please post up a profile picture of this bike when it's built, looks like something that would fulfill my needs. I sure like the look of this top tube far better than the standard arched version.

I need LOW, low, low, standover with a longer TT. Long torso, short inseam. So, when I looked at Ventana's standard geo chart, the standover turned me off. I would Totally do one of these now that I have seen one with a TT that low.

the xx1 is freakin awesome. 32t and that is fine for me

i went with the stans crest cuz that is what was around so i could ride.
i may revise with ritchey carbons if they ever get it out and flush out the driver for xx1
the hans dampfs are pretty nice.
i like pedals straps -period. so please no comments on that, they work damn fine for me. fyxation fyi

    Almost Finished Alpino

It's been a slow build with some part changes. I was going to use my 2008 Fox on my 650B HT, then decided to buy Fox (a Trust MTBR member talked me out of that), then back to the old Fox, and finally onto a new RS Rev all blacked out.....which is the theme of my bike.....Ventana Spec Ops Ole'

    Enjoy

It's not a Pike! It's a Revelation. From what I see so far the SID, Rev and Pike have black upper tubes for mid year moving forward

How is the 140mm fork feeling on the Alpino? That's something I would probably like. Did you go with custom geo vs standard geo?

Opps, I just assumed it was a pike and dint read your post. What travel are you going to run the Rev at? From your picture it looks taller than 120mm to me? I've been very happy with my 2012 Rev I have on my Ciclon

No, it's set at 120mm. I got the wheels this weekend. I am waiting on my PF 30 press adapters for my King BB.

    i got a custom blend
    zeus wb
    alpino ht angle
    zeus st angle
    alpino bb
all skwished into a lower standover and 140travel
this was per Sherwoods rec given my style and local trails

it rides very smoothly thru the squirrelly flow up here in pacNW
got some action recently on some larger drops unexpectedly and there was barely a scuffup
it loves technical uphills as i had requested esp with the rear remote lockout which i wont do w/o from now on.
my 150# doesnt tax the crest/dampf setup at all.
