Should I worry about customs when shipping a bike ahead of me?

I'm headed to Iceland in two and a half weeks. I'm planning on shipping the bike ahead of me, if I can find somewhere to ship it to. None of the LBSs or the hotel I'm staying at have got back to me. I'm wondering if I should calculate some time for customs. I'd rather not, but at this point, I may just fly with the bike.

I fly to so cal with my bike once a month... Customs will open up and move stuff around the key is to organize everything and don't cram stuff. Padding helps because your case will get thrown around if not by handlers the aircraft will. You should not have a problem!! good luck

Should I worry about customs when shipping a bike ahead of me?

I flew to Norway recently with no problems. Bike was in an Evoc case. Post with more info is in the Endurance XC Racing forum.

I think I should just fly with the Trico box instead of shipping it ahead of me. I don't want to be waiting for it to clear customs while I could be riding. I've shipped bikes and gear sold on ebay to Italy and the buyers have waited up to a month for their stuff to clear.
