    Queenstown or Auckland

    Hi!
Im planning to take a language course in New Zeeland in November December. I do a lot of sports, like running, mountain biking (cross country), crosscountry skiing etc. During my study time in NZ I would like to train with a mountainbike club. I havent yet decided where to study, Im choosing between Queenstown or Auckland.

Downhill seems to be quite big in Queenstown, but what about cross country? Is there any xc trails, what about roads in the mountains?

Can somebody please give me some advice about where to go and if there is some MTBclub to train with.

    Regards
    /K

I lived in Queenstown for 12 years. It is a real hub for outdoor activity. There is lots to do and lots if people to do it with. The downhill MTB scene is relatively new but there is XC trails everywhere. My favorite was Macetown with 26 river crossings.

Auckland is nice but a big city with lots of traffic problems
