    New question here. Niagara Falls

    Hi there.

My wife and I are in New York state late June and we plan to drive the Great Lakes Sea Way Trail.

Are there any non-technical, scenery trails along the way, esp. around Niagara Falls? Mostly just looking for a nice day out on the bike. We would also need to rent bikes.

    Any info much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Nes

I wouldn't say they're non-technical but they are definitely worth the drive -- Short Hills Provincial Park in Ontario. There are a couple LBS' in St Catherine's and I'm sure you can rent a bike from one of them. It's been a few years since I was there, but those trails were pretty fun!

My wife and I took MTBs on a trip where we spent time at Niagra Falls. Bikes are almost ideal for visiting the park on the American side. We took our passports and rode across the bridge to the Canadian side where we stopped for lunch, and viewed the falls from there too. There are some trails along the river on the American side for a few miles that you can ride on. A good lock allows you to explore on foot. Don't know about bike rental. The area isn't a bike Mecca and except for the falls is pretty economically depressed. At least it was when we were there.

There is a georgeous multi use trail along the river on the canadian side starting at Niagara on the Lake at the mouth of niagara river and lake Ontario heading back upstream. It is very pretty and some wineries on the way. Not mountain biking but a pretty fun way to spend the afternoon. There is also some fun singletrack outside of buffalo in Sprague Brook park.
