best mountain bike town within 6 hours of Spokane?

So me and some friends are considering doing a glacier national park hiking tour that departs from Spokane, Washington and returns to Spokane. We thought we might also want to do a few days mountain biking as well. I was wondering what the best town is for it that's within 6 hours of Spokane by car. It should have good bike rental shops, lots of intermediate-advanced XC/All Mountain trails to choose from, and good scenery (I don't want to go somewhere that's just thickly wooded riding because I get a lot of that where I live in Massachusetts and I want to see some epic western scenery if possible). A small rural town is preffered.

    Thanks!

Across the border in BC you could find what you're looking for in Fernie, Nelson or Rossland.
Winthorp/Mazama WA has some good riding. So does Wenatchee.

Combine a trip to Rossland with some riding in Kettle Crest (east of Kettle Falls, about 1.5 hours north of Spokane); lots of trail choices and come with views. Also do Abercrombie Mountain (WA) before crossing the border (7 mile descent on swoopy, loamy singletrack).

Hood River, Oregon (Syncline, Survey's Ridge/Dog combo, Post Canyon).

From what I've read, at this point, no; that's likely in large part to the advocacy work done by the Evergreen Mtn Alliance in WA: Advocacy - Evergreen Trail Guide

What about Oakridge, OR. MTB central for the state. I'd also consider Missoula, MT and nearby Clarkfork River trail #223 at St Regis.

I know this is a month ago, but you can't beat BC for scenery, extent of trails, and mix of XC/AM. Whistler alone offers epic riding.
