    2350 Miles in Two Months

Hi, I am preparing to embark on the cycle of my life. I will be cycling 2350 Miles in two months on my Hardrock Sport. My question is what is likely to wear out on my bike during the trip?

Below is a link to a Facebook page I have set up:

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Aldern...77741258925365

If you are a Facebook member it would be great if you could like this page, it will help raise awareness and hopefully help in obtaining donations from various companies I have approached.

    Thanks

Hi, I posted this message 4 weeks ago and as of yet I have had no replies. Could some one help me as to :

What is likely to wear out on my bike during the trip?

What equipment will be needed (I already have about 50% of the gear but I dont want to forget anything cruicial) ?

I have a Tent, Sleeping Bag, Rucksack, Lights/Reflectors/Bell, Cycling Gloves, Specialized HR SPTDSC with Road Tyres, 2x Bottles, Pump, Puncture Repair Kit, Spare Chain, Florecent Jacket, Water Proof Top, Sunglasses, Toothbrush, Shower Gel.

Things still to purchase are Specialized Tahoe Shoes, Rohan Bags, 5x Rohan T-Shirts, Padded Boxers, Seemless Socks, Travel Towel, Cycling Shorts.

    Thanks

Thats quite a trip you have! I would bring an extra tire, maybe get the bars set higher for more comfort because your back will get sore if there set too low. Rain gear, water proof footwear, mud/water guard, batteries, med kit,set the tire pressure around 65+ for a better rolling resistance,an extra cable(in case brake/derailer cable breaks),tools...

First-aid, magnesium fire starter(practice), backpacker stove, parts/tool kit, tent repair kit(works for raingear too), chain/lube/cleaner, lightweight down jacket, water purifier, therm-a-rest and more first-aid. The only wear items should be your shorts, gloves, socks and maby your grips. P.M. your bike daily and you should spot "issues" before they become "PROBLEMS". Backpacking gear is crazy light and durable nowadays.
    Good luck!
