Riding in Moab 20-22 Sep
Hello, we' re having 3 days ride in Moab from 20th to 22nd of Sep.
On 20th we' ll go SlickRock, 21st Whole Enchilada and 22nd... we actually don' t know !?
Please, just suggest us what' s the third unmissable trail around Moab. Because of the last day maybe something very funny but (please) not so hard !
We' re also looking for riders to join with !

EKG, megasteps, baby steps area - not too hard, interesting, can generate a fairly long ride. For a harder ride, Amasa Back, Pothole arch, Ahab area.

I'm quite fond of the new trails in and around Gemini Bridges, i.e. parts of the Mag-7 and others. Specifically, Bull-Run, Arths Corner, Little Canyon and Great Escapte.
I also like the Brand Trails, some people aren't too excited about them but I like doing Deadman's Ridge, Circle O and Rockin A.

I really love the Mag-7 trails. You should give them a shot.
I'm a mountain bike guide in southwest Utah

Are you folks kidding?
The 'must do' ride beyond those is Amasaback/Cap'n Ahab/Jackson's/Rockstacker area, IMO.
THEN down the line to mag 7, Gemeni, Soveriegn, Brand, etc.
just my opinion, of course.

Well, he was asking for "not that hard". I haven't done those trails yet but I've heard they are hard.
I'll throw Barlett's Wash in here too. If you're tired (sounds like you will be, with that itinerary) then Bartlett's is a fun, scenic area to play around on the bike without having to work too hard. Also the Brand Trails are fun.

If they are doing TWE, certainly they can handle Ahab, dontchya think?
But yeah, with "mellower, but still rippin'" , I would say Mag 7 is the call. Shuttled.

Dunno! Like I said, I haven't done Rockstacker/Ahab/Jackson yet but I've heard its tough. I just did TWE last Saturday and it wore me out pretty good. I would want something pretty mellow after that, but that's just me.

Current A List (Given Solid Riding Ability and Love of Some Tech):
- Whole Enchilada
- Mag 7
- Amasa -> Pothole -> Rockstacker -> Ahab or Jackson's (or both!)
- Bartlett / Jedi
Current B List:
- North Klondike STs
- Slickrock
- Moab Brands STs (southern and northern ends are best)
- Sovereign
- Pipe Dream (south -> north)
No need to dip into the B List on a three day trip unless you want a break in technical or distance commitment, or you're just plain "over" the A listers.

Thank you all for your info, even if now my mind is a bit messed up !
Magn-7 and Amasa Area sounds good shots ! We' ll make up our mind but I guess we will be irresolute until we arrive.
Is there anyone of you taking these rides on those days ?

I think Amasa Black +/- Pothole arch, then Captain Ahab is much more mellow and reasonable as a third day ride than Mag 7! Skip Rockstacker if you are looking to mellow things out - it has a few sections of exposure that put it in the tough category for sure, IMHO.
I've only done Mag 7 once (shuttled from the top), but did the whole thing including Portal at the end. My brother and I may have taken the long, painful way around from the end of Goldbar to Portal but I would say that if there is a way to skip everything after Goldbar, then it might be OK. Doing what we did, we put in almost 23.5 miles and almost 2900 feet of climbing (despite shuttling to the top, which allowed for 4800 ft of descending!). Not an easy ride for sure. That said, having only done it once and with someone else who also didn't know where the hell he was going, maybe we did something wrong and there is a more enjoyable way to finish the ride - the first half of it was a blast!

Thank you to all of you for your suggestions. We really had lovely time in Moab and surroundings. We finally went riding to SlickRock, TWE and Captain Ahab on the last day.
What do I think ?
SlickRock is a great quick 2hrs after-work training camp
TWE is The sunday ride
Ahab is the most enjyable and intense fun ride
