Anyone done the Brianhead Epic 50 or 100?
How crazy is a person to try this solo?

Personally I think that "crazy" is a good word to use, but I've never been much of the endurance, race and endurance-race type. However, my brother did one of the two, not sure if it was the 50 or the 100, and he'd have better info for you. I'll get him to get on and post.

    No one?

Any ideas then what kind of bike would be good. Would you go lightweight-short-travel XC or trail bike?

    Hey c-record,

Check out their official site, http://www.brianheadepic.com/, where you can get a load of info including a forum where you might get some better responses to your questions. I'd also visit the Endurance Racing forum, http://forums.mtbr.com/endurance-xc-racing/. Good luck. Oh buy the way, my bro did the 50 and he said that it was murder, and that ironically the 100 isn't supposed to be that much worse, due to the lack of additional elevation gain.

Thanks a lot for the info. I may be talking myself out of it but it could be one of those things that stinks while doing it but seems cool on reflection. Good riding.
