    What bars?

I am looking for a new set of bars, and I see guys riding with 30-40mm rise bars. Is there a benefit to higher rise bars? Or just rider preference?

    I like 3"s (76.2mm). It's purely a personal preference issue. ; )

I just picked up some Deity Topsoil bars, 50mm rise. Will be installing them tomorrow.

Yeah I ride 50 mm or 2 inch rise. I would have gone with 3s but couldn't find a bar with a 31.9 clamp and I already had the stem and didn't want to buy a new one. I will probably go with 3s on the next bike, but not sure on the narrower clam diameter.... but those bars look like good bars...

I was just about to post a similar question to the OP so I hope its fine I sort of hijack this thread since OP bought bars.

Is there a benefit to riser bars for jumping? I have a Diamondback Dreamliner that I use on jumps (not necessarily DJs with super steep lips), but also for general trail riding. I'm currently riding with Race Face Atlas 785mm .5" rise bars. If I want to get better at jumping, would I benefit from more rise?

I dont think it would help you... it is personal preference. I like the feel of them. I use the Kore Rivera bars because they feel pretty close to BMX handle bars and I like that, plus the flatter bars feel funny on my DJ bike they put in more of a leaned over position and I don't like that.
