How many spacers under stem? 40MM too much? what should the height be from flow to ba

Need some help determining stem / bar height and such.

I am 5'11" I ride mostly DJ with some park and street. I use the bike to commute short distances to work where I rise my seat up a fair bit. I also use it occasionally on some single track trails.

Just wondering how how things should be or what advantages is there to a lower stem/bar height vs a higher one?

    any advice would be great!!

For DJ i enjoyed being as upright as possible to be centered over my bb. 40 mm is going to be no problem but it's a matter of how balanced you feel over it.

DJ to commuter is a very big change in geometry so I'd just focus on the DJ feel then do what you do with the raised seatpost. Rather be comfortable in the air then down on the ground just pedaling to work.

Unfortunately it's a thing where you have to just run different spacer configurations back to back until you find the best feel. I personally like riser bars and run high bars even on my mtb. High as in several inches above seat set at full pedal height

I ride these 4" bmx cruiser bars, with an 80mm travel fork.

I used to run 3.25" bars spacered up (and later had a top load bmx stem instead of that front load one)
