    Fox Vanila question

I've a chase 4, and the fork kinda sucks...
I can get a good deal on a fox vanilla R fork (130mm). Will it fit my bike? can you shorten its travel if not?
    Thanks.

130mm will really rake it out. I believe that you can reduce the travel on a Vanilla. It's not something most shops will do for you, and it's not something you should attempt unless you understand forks.

Fox forks tend to develop a creak around the crown area. The seals are very poor (replace with Enduro seals out of the box). And the lower castings tend to be fairly thin. I've seen the lower castings blow out before.

    But the dampening is superb.

I can get a very good deal for the 2006 R(250$). The better models cost more. I think I'll pass, though, and wait for another opp to arrive.
