I run rear-only but that's just because I didn't want to spend the duckets on another brake. I plan to add a front brake in the future.

I like my front brake. It's fun. As soon as stuff dries off around here, I'm going to go try and stoppie onto a bench. Too bad I'm busy tommorrow!

you get the most brakeing power from only a front brake acc. to sheldon brown and my physics courses. ergo, i only run a front brake

True, but what about manuals, wheelie, abubacas and fufanus? I can do a brakeless manual, but it's nice to have the added safety of being able to slow down the rear wheel to bring the front down.

i dont do those on my commuter, so if i had to say which brake to remove, id remove the front.

Bah, who needs a front brake for REAL DJ/street/park?

I run either rear only or brakeless depending on my mood.

Brakeless is something I wouldn' do around here. Drivers would run me over, then backup and run me over again to make sure I'm dead. People don't carry guns around here at all unlike the U.S., but they drive like sh*t instead.

To clarify what i was saying for those who misunderstod, if i were to remove 1 brrake, it would be the rear. I also only run a front on my XTC composite racer. Front only is definetly the way to go.

Yes, for cross country riding, for urban, I'd never go without my rear brake for some trialsy moves and such.

do you realize what forum you are in? and "Sheldon Brown and your physics courses"??? c'mon. I don't think any references to that guy is going to relate to street/dj/park riding. maybe you got confused by the "urban" element? we don't discuss retro commuters much here, although I do dig them, but it just doesn't relate much.
front only is for those who are weak on a fixed gear or track bike.

ok you run front only for comuting and xc, but runing front only is completly retarded for urban/dj/park, so sayin "Front only is definetly the way to go" is totaly wack considering what forum you are in

I prefer front & rear. With all the hills here in SF it keeps you from becoming a huge blood splat on the side of a bus or car!
