    dj for cx chores?

I currently have a chameleon set up for cross country duty ( about two hour long rides). I live in Roanoke Virginia. Well I have been building some jumps in the back yard and I am thinking of selling off the chameleon and building up the new jackal. My question is would it be possible with a 1x9 set up to do both with the jackel(dj and cross country)? What do you guys and gals think?
