Daniel Dhers bike park opening....I want a bike $1500 budget - help out this old dude

Ok, so I'm interested in buying a DJ/Urban style bike to play around with at some local jumps and this new bike park opening localy (Holly Springs NC). I'd like a 26er, front shock (past wounds of broken elbow, dislocated shoulder and broken fingers - need some cushion!) I got about $1500 to blow. Spend my money for me!

Oh many that is a good chunk of money!

do you want to build one or do you want to buy a complete?

You will probably get lots of suggestions and I'm sure they will all be great.... every one has their preference.

What is your goal? ride their pump tracks and box jump lines or are you interested in getting more into street/park as well?

IMO one of the most well rounded bikes on the market and the one I will be getting this spring is the Transition BLT

    https://www.transitionbikes.com/2014/Bikes_BLT.cfm?Token={ts_2014-02-11_08:48:36}-d614de6769888eb9-4CE0878E-AAB4-1F95-A5AAF5C72135F9EC

    I also like the following:

    Transition PBJ

Spank Spoon One2One Frame – Reviews, Comparisons, Specs – Mountain Bike Frames - Vital MTB

    and the

NS Majesty- both park and street frames

NS Bikes 2014 - Stay True!

I come from a BMX back ground and find the park/street bikes to be more to my liking from what I've rode and I love the smaller niche companies...

Some others to consider Standard, S&M and Black Market all make great stuff

if you are looking to go more main stream

I think Specialized P line is pretty dialed compared to some of the other big names

    Specialized Bicycle Components

for $1500 you can buy or build a pretty killer rig... good luck and have fun!

    That's a great reply....thanks for your imput.

Yeah, I plan to just play on the pump track and jump line. No big hits/jumps or quarters I'm sure. I like those transition bikes!

no problem... well I personally like the BLT but I think the PBJ is the more popular one... it might be the more natural feeling one as the geo will be more MTB than BMX but I just got back from Frost Bike and talked with a couple reps that had rode both and both of them said they like the BLT better but one said he rode them at the post office jumps and another said he had one for a month at his local jump spot and skate park in Grand Junction.... good luck... let us know what you go with!

oh and IMO both of those transitions are way better bikes with better parts than that Haro you linked in the OP

Just an FYI to all, Dartmoor will soon be available via a ColoRADo distributor. HoorayBikes will be bringing them in. Dartmoor-na.com

Unfortunately I have nothing to do with them, just passing the info along.
