    Converting a P2 or similair to 1x9

I am looking at grabbing a used DJ bike. I see almost all are single speed. If I were to pick one up that is single speed and convert it to 1x9 what would I need?

I know shifter, rear derailleur, cassette, most like new chainring but would I need to replace my rear wheel or Hub to fit the cassette?

    Thanks

It depends on the hub. Some are single speed only while others can be 1 or 9 speed.

Add to your parts list a chain guide for the crank. Make sure the bike you buy has a hub that can take a cassette, or you are looking at a new wheel as well. And of course the frame needs derailleur dropouts.
