Can someone explain the psi differences Im seeing.

I just read a thread and saw multiple people post about how you should ride at 70 psi.
But I posted a thread in the beginners section about appropriate psi and most the answers were 30-40psi.
    Whats the discrepancy here?

Generally in street/dj/park riding higher pressures are used, this is because higher pressure = lower rolling resistance i.e. go faster for less effort and also less likely to pinch flat. Also there is less need for grip in street riding compared to say xc or dh.

So when they were saying 30-40 psi they were probably reffering to xc.

I made a little chart (all pressures are generally speaking):

    Trials: 10-20
    dh: 20-30
    xc: 30-40
    4x/dj: 50+ (depending on track)
    street/park: 70+

Of course its also down to what your comfortable with.

Also depends on what rim/tire set up you have.

I blew my stock tire of the rim while inflating.
The animal street tire i replaced it with however can hold as much air as you want.
