One man's crutch is another man's...I dunno

Here's Fred the Frog (a neighbor's daughter named him). He went to Moab with me on the Spot. That way I never had to ride alone. Is that a crutch?

Homemade bike stand. Only cost a few bucks, I built 4 of them. Crutch or efficient use of funds?

My only crutch is a Ti seatpost on my Ventana hardtail. Unfortunately , I lack sufficient brain cells to be able to master the simple "up-down" of the gravity diaper. Same with the lockout on my fork.
