Wednesday Stoke

Wednesday. The usual suspects gather and clip in. Even though the long summer days are right around the corner....the day's fun ends all too soon!

Nice!
Always good to see ride shots to get the hump-day blood flowing.

Nice pics Aqua! Did you go down in that last shot or were you just trying to flex your shoulder muscles for the camera?

That last shot looks like those two got caught doing something embarassing and they're diving from the camera.

Nice shots, Aqua, as usual.

your ride was infinitely better than mine today, steve!

I not only drove my bike to the trailhead, but lazily left a 2.0 michelin mudder on the back [saved my ride at last weekend's mudfest 12 hr race], and within the first mile, proceeded to have to do minor surgery on my rear caliper [another mud race victim] since they were so completely worn out scraping dragging, I had to push the pistons back in manually. Then a mile later, thru a favorite rockpile, I mashed my puny wimpy 2.0 on a puny rock and "pffffffpfpffppppfpfppppttttt!"......I look in my pack and don't have any tire levers! I used the pump head locklever to pry the bead loose, and while doing so, the skies opened up a torrent of cold sideways rain.....needless to say, I finished my loop and proceeded to go straight to my local brew pub and pick up a growler of their Vienna Ale, which I am drinking right now.....

I suppose it ended well.....!

JOD LOL that's hilarious

My turn...
A Beautiful day. Great Weather. The sun was shining. Wifey calls and says her "thing" got canceled so I'm good to go for a quickie... Ride that is...
I left work early and had enough time to wrench the scooter, get something to eat, brew a xtra strong 'chino and get out of dodge.

I pull into the park at 6 on the dot... just in time for the thunderstorm. WHATEVER. we rode anyway. Wet slippery rocks and moist grippy dirt. The guys were estimating the ride was ~ 7miles... I was very sceptical. more like mid 6.... we were all wrong.

The Loop

The Profile(note the lack of distance)

Time: 1 hr 30 mins avg speed 4 mph, max 26mph ... welcome to the North East people.

The pictures (it was dark)
wmbarace on his gleaming white Pack's maden voyage in the dirt

Tom C decending decisively on his C'dale

Yours Truly...Daaam I'm ugly. Now you know why my bike is so purdy.

I suppose if Aqua can post pix of himself in a skirt I shouldn't be so vain.

Like Joker, we stopped at the trail lodge for some brews actually one of the crew brought a cooler had pizza delivered and we had a planning meeting for our upcomming Fat Tire Festival.

You all can....

JOD!!!!

How could you throw me under the bus like this?? You know these monkeys around here are cruel and insensitive. It's bad enough that there are morons like Fo Buttsore, NumbnutsinGA, and Dustbag Bottoms that I have to put up with. But you? You are my trusted amiga. And now I am totally distraught....I may not be able to ride this weekend.

I hope that you are happy.

hey stoke-heads,

including the esteemed Mr Taylor,

my virtual absence from here for the past several weeks is attributable to my work on the lower half of a trail I started last season. I completed the upper half last season. expected to take ALL SEASON to finish the lower half.

but when I started it this season after the snowline crept upward enough to walk the terrain and flag new mileage, I found lots of excellent elk trail mileage that required little in the way of pulaski work. so I spent the past several weeks finishing the lower half of my trail. today it's raining here in zootown so I'm not doing the debut ride today, but tomorrow I am.

my stoke is HUGE and UNSTOPPABLE.

however, since it is a mystery trail built in a mysterious area, I cannot and will not post any pictures of the trail. so sorry.

but I'm happy to take any Homers who are in or visiting Missoula.
