    The Spot is done!

Hey everyone, I've been lurking in this forum for a long time now and thanks to your advice I got a Flux, which I have enjoyed for the last year and a half. Its just that I kept on lurking and it got in to my head that I needed a 5 Spot, so I got one... Then, It came to my attention that I needed to bling out my Spot... So the blinging process started... Now I can't seem to stop. Should I be worried? Am I a snob and a poser? Is this wrong?

Here are some pics of my recently blinged Spot, I just can't stop looking at it!

Exquisitely tastefull while somewhat questionable without seeming obtuse yet certainly admirable.

Great bike. But mid level parts (X9) dont qualify as "bling."

Great parts....great bike. But bling? No.

    congrats!

i just went the opposite route, started with a spot and just added a flux.
Have you had a chance to ride and compare? I put one good ride last nite and I'm supprised how spot like the flux is, i even hucked it off a 5 footer... it would be interesting to hear your impression going from flux to spot

I have ridden both back to back for the last 6 months and IMO there is a lot of overlap between them. Mostly I ride lots of fireroads and ungroomed singletrack and the terraing here is very steep, I don't huck the bikes on anything larger than 2-3 feet.

So far, the Flux feels faster and accelerates a lot quicker, on the other hand I love how you can bomb down anything on the Spot, it just feels more stable on the steep and rough stuff. I did a downhill this weekend where I usually have to put a foot down on the Flux, I just rolled over it on the Spot.

One last comment is that on tight singletrack the Flux rules!

Ay Mamileno! The gold is so hot right now. I just got back from the motherland, and oh how I miss it. Get yourself one of these riding shorts, and you will be fully blingified.

Hmmmm.... looks like that's set up for heavyXC/AM-lite-Freeride-enduro-drops. Very workmanlike sensible build - silver and gold, silver and gold - you get bonus poseur points just for being able to say "My second Turner". Nice background on the plastic porta-shed too, way better than a red velvet couch.
