So finally I take my first ride...

Bike is built, tweaked and is perfect. I finally get to go ride with the boys. Everyone is checking the bike out, me included. I suck up a stick 5 minutes into the ride and waste the d. hanger. Guess I should have ordered spares when I got the bike, huh?
I did get to one of my fave climbs though. The bike does climb sooooo well - I took a line I've never taken before and went right up. Great bike. Hear the rest of the ride was great.

I know the frustration of that. My first big crash on the 5 Spot resulted in a busted hanger, and the new hanger I have now is bent and cracked (but still usable) from my second big crash.

I've got about 6 spare hangers being sent over from the States right now, but until they're here I'm trying to be a bit more cautious.

Casey, one of the Turner sales guys, told me they changed the material for the hangers a while back, as the original hangers were a bit too soft.

I just had a three day weekend with biking everyday. I swapped bikes with a friend and rode his GT hardtail uphill. There I was grinding up the hill on the GT while my friend happily skips up the hill on my shiny red spot. Compared to the 5 spot his hardtail felt like a stationary bike.

    Cheers, Duncan
