Should I stay or should I go (new Reba 29...?)

I just ordered a Sultan frame from Jerry @ Peak bike in NY (great guy to deal with).

Anyhow, i spec'd the build with a Fox F29 fork.

    ...and then!

And then, I see that Rockshox AND Fox are coming out with thru axle (maxle?) 29er forks with travel adjust 90-120mm 120mm REBA 09 to Have U-Turn

Should I change my order? This bike is going to be for fast trail riding and XC racing (targeting 27lb build)

If anyone can get me one of these in the next few weeks, please PM me.

Anyone know when these are going to be available?

What kind of hubs do you need to accept this new 15mm axle?

The new Reba is going to use standard 20x110 TA hubs. I'm not sure if the Fox is QR, TA or TA15...

The Fox is QR only, they're not even doing the QR15. Huge mistake on their part IMO, Reba's gonna kill it. Fox has an 80mm XC fork with QR15, but nothing on the 120mm 29'er fork, makes no sense at all.

Fox is already shipping 09's, hearing rumors of late June on the Reba.

Reba has the maxle light axle to I believe, so its going to make it even more competive for you Sultan boys!

Can't see the point of the 15mm std to me seems nutz to mix up more hubs, more forks more cost, haven't we got enough different stds, RS are very smart these days! working for the riders not against em..

Hope there TA 29er fork works well ,for them

    Thanks 6th, Larry, and TA.

Is the weight of the new REBA supposed to be as light as the F29 (even though the REBA has a Thru Axle and travel adjust?).

That's what I have read...just can't see it being possible!

I too have a Sultan on the way. Weight of the Reba 29er maxel? Which hub? When and where to get one? I would like to know your build kit. 27lbs sounds perfect!

The Reba 120 with Maxle would be on my Sultan if RockShox had their act together a year ago. I'm not going to change my Manitou out now that I have it, but the RS would be top of my list if I were shopping now.
{Principal Skinner} Hmm. Whoever did this is in very deep trouble.
    {Martin} And a sloppy speller too. The preferred spelling of 'wiener' is w - i - e - n - e - r, although 'e - i' is an acceptable ethnic variant.

Anyone know if RS also tweaked the offset? I know the current Reba 29 has a 38mm, the Fox has 44. I thought I heard rumors that RS was also increasing the new Reba offset to 44 or 46.

I like my Manitou as well but better damping, tool free wheel removal for transport, adj travel which will allow lockout at lower travel settings for climbing and black instead of white/silver is just too much for me to pass up!

    Hubs for Maxel?

DT Swiss 240 has 20mm. Did not see 15mm. Am I way off here? Missing something? I have never used a thru axel before. Other options? Thanks!!!

is the new Reba going to have U-Turn (External Travel Adjust)?

I got the impression that it was externally adjustable, but after talking with 6thE, we were wondering if its going to be a "tear down" to adjust type of thing...
