Saying goodbye to a Turner tradition and a Homer original...

    Peeps,

After many bike centerfolds and a few babes the time has come for me to say goodbye to my beloved red microfiber sectional, better known as the official "Homer Couch Shot" couch. After all the football games, movies, nudie female werstling and bike shots I'm selling "Big Red" because it won't fit in my girlfriends puny living room. I'm getting ready to leave my downtown penthouse to move into her midtown condo and my baby has to be sacrificed.

For the noobs, this is the couch that started the internet couch shot sensation -- not to be confused with the "money shots" that are found on jsut about every other website on the net. Many Homers have paid homage to "Big Red" with their own couch shots, thus leaving other boards envious that their furniture doesn't figure more prominently in the discussion.

So to all that have posted pics of their rides on the furniture and some that took it a step further, I salute you. And to Renegade, sorry to deprive you of such an easy setup to heckle me, she will be missed. Tonight I will tip back an Alaskan Summer Ale or five as a tribute to one heckuva couch.

    Cue the bugle....

I bet if you listed that on e-bay and included the history you would be rich.

probably better just to burn it though.

    Good for you!
It does have a rich history here, but to think you actually had that thing in your house...
...not to mention the layers of stains.....

Naw, its microfiber -- a little warm soapy water on a scrubber and all -- I MEAN ALL -- stains just disappear. I wonder if I put it on ebay if I could get as much as the Ortiz curse jersey is going for...

Get it dry cleaned and I'll buy it for a grand... but I want exclusive rights to the nudie pics.
    p.s. you pay shipping.

Are you talking about the couch or Joker's wet dream?

Cactus, that's harsh dude. My red couch has years of photo ops left in er.
I got some bad ideas in my head.

This thread reaffirms my long-held rule:

Never buy used furniture. Especially couches that look like they belong in a cheap bar on the outskirts of Las Vegas.

Man, what with all the haters? I have a big living room and I wanted to fill it up. Sheesh. The red was just a bonus -- tan, brown, gray, blue -- BORING! I appreciate the props from many though. As the Zilla pic shows, beer, babes and bikes - that's what its all about.

Sigh: the end of an era. My condolences Chris. Will counseling be necessary to get you through the pain of separation?

Counseling .. yes .. preferable the 12 oz variety. And since its spring-ish, I would prefer a summer lager or golden ale. Note growlers are an acceptable alternative.
