    Same rocks, different players

Some of us from OC headed out of town to join Granny, DFT, and Mondo for a little action Saturday.

On the way up Granny assures us we're on track

    Aqua Droppings

Part of the group at the high point

    Tim, Mondo, DFT, Granny

Tim hitting the Satin jump on his USC color scheme Pack

Mondo railed in and blasted it. Tough to get speed, but he's got it wired

Some rocky stuff a little ways down

    Chris

    Me

    Some chunk

    Hoochie

Granny hucking off a rock and heading towards the banked turn & double

    Tim off the diving board

Looking the other way. DFT off the diving board heading towards the double.

Me off the double looking up. Pick your line carefully or you're going down!

    Mondo over the doub

Granny demoing a little step up

    Me

    Chris

Granny showing us a little bigger step up

Me - I know, more speed, but I'm getting HUNGRY and don't have the energy to actually pedal. Pretty much impossible not to make it onto the rock though.

    DFT airing it out

    Chris

If Mondo hadn't raced off to do a ROAD RIDE with is wife he could have showed us how this should really be done

There was a lot more, but I'll just end it with a few links to short vids. All in all a fun day and some perfect weather!

Great pics Danno. That terrain looks quite similar to our local trail called "The Barrel trail". Endless line possiblities. All one has to do is pick up a shovel.

I like watching everyone's helmet bob downward upon impact. Thats a pretty decent size drop.

Looks like the guys have kept the grounds in good condition and I like the addition of the wood ramp. Need to get back down there and ride it again.

Nice pics, thx for posting them.

I wasn't there the day you were, but I've seen the vid of you getting onto that rock when it had the little kicker. Impressive because it's pretty tough to get going fast on that run in.

Here are a couple vids of that step up.

Me - should have cranked a bit harder

Chris - got on top clean

Looks like you had it Danno, except for the fact that you pushed your rear end down at the last second, which caused you to lose momentum upon touch down.

I know you're right, and I'm not sure why I did that. Jumping doubles I do just the opposite. Oh well, good reason to go back!

Some of the sections we must have done at least 10 retries. Super fun stuff. Several required a long climb back up. This ramp was near the end of the ride and all I could think about was the Mexican place we were going to hit for some serious post ride grub
