    question about my Sultan

I recently acquired an 07 Sultan from a friend. When pedaling with some torque the chain rubs the fd. I asked him about it and he said it always happened and he just got used to the noise. I was just wondering if this was/is a common problem and if there are any fixes.

The bike is an XL 07, set up 2x9 with an 08 LX crankset and X9 fd.

    Thanks

    Same...

I ran both XT and XTR derrailluers on the front without issue. I would think that an adjustment could be made. Are the cranks and pivots tight? Good luck.

Yep, swap it for a XT. I tried a X9 and couldn't keep the chain on the middle ring, no problems after putting on a XT.
